Easter Island in Japan?! Sun Messe Nichinan, Miyazaki

Yes, it does exist. An hour south of Miyazaki city, there is a huge park right next to the Pacific Ocean, and it has replicas of the Moai statues of Easter Island. Apparently, it’s the only place in the world that got permission to create those. Why? It’s Japan. I’ve stopped asking why a long time ago, but seeing these statues in one of the least populated prefectures of Japan was pretty weird. And pretty cool.
