Niijima Photo Gallery

On a weekend in May, we got on an overnight ferry that took us to a volcanic Japanese island located in the Philippine Sea, about 160 km south of Tokyo. The night on the ferry we spent in sleeping bags, on the floor, and continued the hippie life on a (free) camping site on the island. Riding a squeaky bike though the sleepy town, walking along deserted beaches and watching beautiful sunsets from an outdoor Onsen, I couldn’t have felt further way from every day life back on the mainland.
